1964 FOURNIER-MARCADIER FM01 Tray - Lot 73
1964 FOURNIER-MARCADIER FM01 Tray Serial number 4276332 Excellent quality finish One of the finest Marcadiers ever produced. French registration Inspired by Colin Chapman and his famous Lotus cars, André Marcadier ventured into the world of motoring, and in early 1963, in association with Marcel Fournier, presented the first French sports car kit: the Fournier-Marcadier barquette. It was an immediate success: elegant, light, innovative and competitive, it delighted drivers who had access to a real racing car on a reduced budget. The example we're presenting is one of the first Kit cars produced, first registered in 1964, it was quickly put aside. In 1990, the current collector picked it up and embarked on a crazy project: to restore this barquette to perfection. He decided to improve the car. It received an R8 Gordini engine, the most powerful available in the catalog at the time, prepared by the Ducros workshops for a power output of around 135 hp. The suspension was revised, the fiat 124 shock absorbers replaced by real ones worthy of the car, and the front suspension changed to triangulation. Since then, its owner has taken part in numerous rallies and events. This is undoubtedly one of the finest Marcadier barquettes in existence, providing a unique opportunity. 1964 FOURNIER-MARCADIER FM01 Tray Serial number 4276332 Excellent quality finish One of the finest Marcadiers ever produced.
