EXAMPLE WITH AN AUTOGRAPHIC LETTER SIGNED BY GERARD DE NERVAL: " My dear friend, I am ashamed to have missed the appointment on Sunday. I felt slightly indisposed, I went to bed at three o'clock expecting to wake up in plenty of time. I slept until eight o'clock. Please apologize to Ducamp [the writer Maxime Ducamp, one of the founders of the Revue de Paris] whom I will visit at the hazard these days; believe that it is not an oversight but sincerely an accident for which I am very angry because I am a man of exactitude. See you soon, your friend Gérard de Nerval" (s.l.n.d., 3/4 p. in-8). Provenance : Charles Hayoit (leather ex-libris).
