The Porsche 911 2.8 RSR is one of the absolute icons of 1970s customer racing. The example we are presenting is a formidable evocation of this sacred monster, built on the basis of a 911 2.4 E from 1973. This car has a soul and a history: it's been racing since the 90s. Far from being an immobile speculative object, it has been handed down from Gentleman Driver to Gentleman Driver, always remaining in the hands of demanding enthusiasts who have brought it to life on the track. Under the care of its current owner (for the last twenty years), this 911 has repeatedly been singled out at historic events and in particular sports and collectors' events for its quality of preparation and performance. The car has been prepared uncompromisingly to Group 4 specifications. The powertrain is based on a 1977 2.7-liter block (engine no. 6370611), which has been upgraded to a 2.8-liter. This razor-sharp powerplant features an injection pump with RSR-specific cams, RSR camshafts and dual ignition. Power output is estimated at between 280 and 300 hp. To exploit this cavalry, the car is equipped with a close-ratio gearbox, a race-reinforced axle and an organic racing clutch. The chassis is in tune with the car's predecessors, with a well-prepared braking system, bucket seats, 4-point harness and roll-over bar. Today, the car is in exceptional working order, the result of massive recent investment: - Mechanical: Major work has just been completed in 2025. The engine has been completely dismantled and reconditioned, as has the gearbox. The - Bodywork: Restored between 2015 and 2016, it is still in very good condition (invoices to support this). Competition history: In the past, the car held a Technical Passport (which must be renewed by the purchaser for use in official competition). According to oral tradition, this car shone when it won its class at the Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or at Montlhéry in 2002, confirming its winning potential. It's an exceptional car to drive, offering raw sensations and formidable efficiency on both track and road. With its Group 4 mechanics fresh from a complete overhaul and its history of Gentleman Drivers since the 90s, it's ready for the season ahead.
