1988 HONDA RC30 - Lot 12
1988 HONDA RC30 No reserve Serial number 2000068 French registration Fuel tap change in 2019 Original wheels supplied with bike The Honda RC30 was presented to the public on July 26, 1987, at the legendary Suzuka 8 Hours. Inspired by the RVF, which shone on the racetrack, the RC30 takes up its racy aesthetics and emblematic lines. Beneath its exterior lies a true racing machine: the V4 engine, derived from the Honda VFR 750 F, has been reworked to deliver even more power. Magnesium crankcases lighten the overall weight, while titanium connecting rods bear witness to the extreme care given to performance. The aluminum swingarm is a direct legacy of Honda's partnership with Elf. The body components, hand-crafted in FRB (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), are both light and strong. Each RC30 is hand-assembled in the HRC competition department's Hamamatsu workshops. The front wheel is fitted with an ultra-fast removal and re-installation system, designed for the demands of racing. The model destined for the French market develops 91 horsepower. The fairing features a white, blue and red livery, enhanced by the yellow wing of the Honda logo on the tank. The "Bol d'Or" sticker appears under the front indicators, and the "VFR 750R" sticker on the seat cover. The bike was previously owned by an owner from Haute-Savoie. It was purchased by the current vendor on February 6, 1993, at 21,800 km, for 63,000 francs, from a Honda dealer in Saint-Genis-Pouilly (Ain). On this occasion, two new tires were fitted, the front and rear brake pads replaced, as well as the oil and filter. The fuel taps were changed in 2007 and again in 2019. The original white wheels, carefully disassembled, will be supplied with the bike. On display in its private museum, the motorcycle has remained stationary for several years. It will need to be restarted.
