1965 Triumph TR4A - Lot 91
1965 Triumph TR4A British road registration cleared: 846A Serial number: CT/58855-L - Michelotti design, "so British" charm - Work costing over €3,000 Launched in 1961, the Triumph TR4 marked a clean break with its predecessors. Designed by Italian master Giovanni Michelotti, it modernized the lines of British roadsters with its angular fenders, expressive grille and cutaway rear end. Comfort has improved significantly, with the introduction of drop-down windows, a more ergonomic dashboard and a host of practical features, all without betraying the sporty DNA of the TR range. Under the hood, the 2.1-liter four-cylinder engine offers flexibility and vigor. An immediate success, the TR4 became an icon of sixties British motoring. The model offered for sale dates from 1965, and today features a red-black interior configuration, topped with a black roof, in place of its original black-red interior combination. This livery gives the car a more dynamic character, while remaining faithful to the elegance of the original models. Mounted on 60-spoke wheels, it retains the aesthetic and technical attributes so dear to the brand's fans. In terms of equipment, it benefits from period heating and a spare wheel. The car is accompanied by invoices totalling over €3,000, including replacement of the fuel pipes in the engine compartment, the gearbox and the water pump. The only drawback is that the rocker panels, which were poorly repaired at one time, deserve a thorough overhaul. 1965 Triumph TR4A British registration document cleared through customs: 846A Serial number: CT/58855-L - Michelotti design, quintessentially British charm - Over £3,000 worth of work carried out Launched in 1961, the Triumph TR4 marked a clear break with its predecessors.
