1979 Triumph TR7 - Lot 87
1979 Triumph TR7 Chassis 110163 French registration Without reserve Launched in 1975, the Triumph TR7 was the final model in the firm's TR series. Replacing, as its name suggests, the more classic TR6, it was conceived as the sports coupé of the future. Its taut lines, truncated rear and plunging hood caused a sensation when it was unveiled, making it a legitimate rival to the Fiat X1/9, Porsche 914 and Lancia Beta Monte-Carlo. The example we are offering for sale was sold in France in 1979, so this TR7 has its steering wheel on the left and is devoid of all the superfluous elements of the American versions. Acquired in 2014 by its current owner, this TR7 has been fully restored, as evidenced by an extensive photo file. As it has hardly been driven since its restoration, some minor work will be required, as evidenced by the technical inspection, which found the indicators not working, excessive pollution, as well as worn suspension ball joints and rack and pinion bellows. ERRATUM: A play in the steering and a few details make the technical inspection unfavorable. 1979 Triumph TR7 Chassis 110163 French registration document No reservations Introduced in 1975, the Triumph TR7 was the final model in the TR series from the now-defunct company. The example we are offering for sale was sold in France in 1979, so this TR7 has its steering wheel on the left and is devoid of all the superfluous elements of the American versions. Acquired in 2014 by its current owner, this TR7 has been fully restored, as can be seen from an extensive file of photos. Having hardly been driven since its restoration, some minor work will be required, as evidenced by the technical inspection during the follow-up visit, which revealed that the indicators were not working, that there was excessive pollution and that the suspension ball joints and rack boot were worn. ERRATUM: A loose steering and a few details led to an unfavorable technical inspection.
