The first Morgan with 4 wheels was launched in 1936. Since then, the overall design has remained unchanged. It's unique in automotive history. No one else has achieved such longevity. Historically, Morgan's first four-wheeler was called the 4/4, for 4 wheels and a 4-cylinder engine. The name became Plus 4 with the installation of a 2088 cm3 overhead-valve engine in 1950. In 1950, Morgan introduced the "Plus 4" Drop Head Coupé or Cabriolet model, with its luxurious bodywork providing effective protection from the elements. Morgan had already offered this type of bodywork in 1938, but had abandoned it to concentrate on the production of tourers and roadsters. The "Drop Head Coupe" is a very rare variant in the Plus 4 range produced between 1950 and 1968. Only 433 were produced during this period. As production was more complex, the selling price was much lower, and commercial success was not really forthcoming. Today, it's an unusual Morgan. With its higher doors and rearward-facing hood, this is a very elegant version, more "evening wear" than the roadsters. The extra protection is real and effective. The side windows remain removable, as on the roadster. The windscreen is very different, and the finish is far superior, including wood trim on the doors and side strips. For a Morgan, this is top-of-the-range bodywork! Morgan models fitted with a Triumph TR3 engine have serial numbers ranging from 3,421 to 5,574, and only 1,808 were produced between February 1956 and February 1964. Of these, only about a hundred were convertibles.
We present a 1957 Morgan Plus 4 DHC, an iconic model acquired by its current owner in 2014. This car is in good overall condition, having benefited from the aftercare provided by its owner. Its petrol blue color, combined with a black leather interior and camel soft top, gives this model an undeniable elegance. Of these models, only around a hundred were ever built as convertibles, making this a rare vehicle on the market. Its serial number, 3742, attests to its authenticity and its place in the brand's history.
This model stands out not only for its refined aesthetics, but also for its driving pleasure. The Morgan Plus 4 is renowned for its lightness and agile handling, offering a pleasant driving experience. With its soft top in good condition, this car is ready to accompany you on your escapades.
This Morgan Plus 4 DHC is a great opportunity for classic car enthusiasts looking for a model that's both rare and fun to drive.

Rare model, 1,808 units produced
The first Morgan with four wheels was launched in 1936. Since then, the overall design has remained unchanged. This is a unique case in automotive history; no one else has achieved such longevity. Historically, the first four-wheeled Morgan was called the 4/4, referring to four wheels and a four-cylinder engine. The name changed to Plus 4 with the installation of a 2,088 cc overhead valve engine in 1950. In 1950, Morgan introduced the "Plus 4" Drop Head Coupe or Cabriolet, featuring a very luxurious body that provided effective protection against the elements.
Morgan had previously offered this body style in 1938 but abandoned it to focus on producing tourers and roadsters. The "Drop Head Coupe" is a very rare variant among the Plus 4 models produced between 1950 and 1968, with only 433 units produced during that period. Due to the more complex manufacturing process, the selling price was significantly higher, and commercial success was not truly realized. Today, it is an extremely rare Morgan.
With taller doors and a seamless line from the hood to the rear, this version appears very elegant once the top is up, more "evening wear" than the roadsters. The additional protection is both real and effective. The side windows remain removable like those on the roadster.
The windshield is quite different, and the finish is significantly superior, featuring wood accents on the doors and side moldings. For a Morgan, this is a high-end body! Morgans fitted with a Triumph TR3 engine have serial numbers ranging from 3,421 to 5,574. Only 1,808 units equipped with this engine were produced between February 1956 and February 1964. Among these, there were only about a hundred cabriolets.
