1961 MOTO MORINI 175 SETTEBELLO - Lot 56
1961 MOTO MORINI 175 SETTEBELLO 5 000 / 8 000 The Morini Settebello was the benchmark choice in the 50s, when a reliable, easy-to-maintain motorcycle was needed without sacrificing performance. Half the price of the MV Agusta, the Settebello was marketed from 1954 to 1963, and was the gateway to competition for a large number of riders. Its engine enabled it to reach speeds of 140 km/h, and up to 160 km/h for late-production models. This MORINI SETTEBELLO is an ex-stable bike that raced at the time, but unfortunately we don't know its track record. It will therefore have to be reconstructed by its future purchaser. We do know, however, that it has been fully restored by the great specialist Max Coueille in Auch. A restorer and preparer of vintage motorcycles as meticulous as he is a goldsmith, he knows how to push back the limits of an engine, following the example of Colonel Olivier Bourdil's Aermacchi 125, which won the Grand Prix de l'Age d'Or in Monthléry in the '80s, because it could do 280km/h. Others, such as Di Meglio, Costeux and Hutteau, all made their mark with engines built by max Coueille. He also restored the 125 Jonghi ex Jean-Pierre Beltoise, with its famous double-shaft cylinder head. We are therefore offering for sale a racing Morini restored by a leading tuner. It needs a little overhaul. The engine is brand new and will need to be run in to take full advantage of its potential on the racetrack. It's equipped with all its racing accessories: saddle, tank, lap counter, pot, racing carburetor, brakes and Aermacchi tubes and sleeves - the bike's original ones are supplied with it. 1961 MOTO MORINI 175 SETTEBELLO 5 000 / 8 000€ The Morini Settebello was the benchmark choice in the 50s, when a reliable, easy-to-maintain motorcycle was needed without sacrificing performance.
