1982 PININFARINA SPIDER EUROPA - Lot 154
1982 PININFARINA SPIDER EUROPA French vehicle registration certificate Chassis No. ZFR124DS005500059 - Origin: Switzerland - Same owner for 19 years - Latest iteration of the Fiat 124 Spider - Mechanical service due in 2025 Unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in 1967 alongside the Fiat Dino Spider, the 124 Spider features a very elegant and dynamic design by Pininfarina. Fiat ceased sales of the 124 Spider in Europe in 1975, but sales continued in the United States until 1981. Fiat then ceased production of the Spider and transferred the rights to the model to Pininfarina, the brand’s long-standing coachbuilder. Pininfarina decided to upgrade the model with a dual-cam fuel-injected engine and modernize its design. The American-style bumpers on the later model years were redesigned, and chrome made a major comeback. Inside the completely redesigned cabin, the finishes were significantly improved, featuring real wood trim and beautifully crafted leather upholstery. Given the success of this redesign, Fiat gave the green light to market this new model—renamed the Spider Europa for the occasion—through its European dealership network. This Spider Europa was imported into France in 2007 and has remained in the hands of the same owner since its arrival. It is therefore a second-hand vehicle. In August 2025, a major mechanical overhaul was performed at a cost of €2,000, including the replacement of the set of four fuel injectors, the water pump, and four new tires. The body and upholstery are in excellent condition, displaying a light and even patina. As the culmination of the Sport Spider lineage, the Spider Europa has transformed a popular design into a timeless classic, staying true to the spirit of the 1980s Italian roadster. 1982 Pininfarina Spider Europa French vehicle registration document Chassis no.
