Rolls Royce Corniche 1978 - Lot 1
Rolls Royce Corniche 1978 French registration document Serial number DRH31566 - Timeless configuration - 6.75 L V8 engine - Attractive restoration project. Launched in 1971, the Rolls-Royce Corniche quickly established itself as one of the most sought-after luxury convertibles. Derived from the Silver Shadow, it embodied the perfect balance between modern technology (for its time) and handcrafted luxury, inheriting the expertise of the famous coachbuilder H.J. Mulliner Park Ward, a long-standing partner of the brand. Its majestic silhouette, extremely refined finishes and princely comfort appealed to a demanding international clientele loyal to British excellence. Produced in small numbers and almost entirely by hand, each Corniche is a unique piece, built to last... and to impress. The model presented here is a 1978 Rolls-Royce Corniche Cabriolet, in an elegant Midnight Blue livery combined with a cream leather interior, a rare and particularly refined configuration. Delivered new in the UK as a right-hand drive (RHD) vehicle, this Corniche was imported into France in 1987. It has notably been converted to left-hand drive (LHD) in the past, making it more suitable for driving on our roads. This Corniche is an interesting restoration project. The mechanics are in working order, but would benefit from an overhaul to be perfected, while the bodywork and upholstery are in good condition. However, the underbody shows excessive corrosion, particularly on the rocker panels and rear floor panels, and will need to be redone. A quotation for the restoration of the underbody, amounting to €11,414.40, is available on request. 1978 Rolls Royce Corniche French registration document Serial number DRH31566 - Timeless configuration - 6.75L V8 engine - Attractive restoration project.
