FRENCH SCHOOL, first half of the 16th century - Lot 198
FRENCH SCHOOL, first half of the 16th century Saint Jerome penitent in the desert Oil on panel. H_39 cm L_33 cm Restoration. Our painting, from the first half of the 16th century, offers an interpretation the confluence of several schools. Indeed, this panel reveals Italian and Flemish and Flemish influences, and it's easy to see a connection with the Perugino painting by Perugino in the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Caen. The painting is also in a remarkable state of preservation, both for the painting both the painting and its frame.
