ETIENNE LENOIR - Lot 391
ETIENNE LENOIR HANGER In gilded bronze, Vincennes porcelain flowers and Meissen porcelain, with rich foliage decoration, featuring a female figure holding a triangulum and a putto, after models by Joachim Kaendler. On a curved, openwork base with a candle-lighting arm. The circular dial is signed with Roman Arabic numerals. Several marks with a crowned C. Louis XV period. Height 32 cm Please note. Etienne Lenoir, born in 1699, became Master in 1717 and died after 1778. He was elected Visitor of the Guard of his guild in 1759. This clock, which combines the work of a bronzemaker and the royal porcelain manufactures, is reminiscent of the orders placed by 18th-century mercer merchants, particularly Darnault Lazare Duvaux, who made it their specialty.
