In chased and gilded bronze, also known as "à la Duchesse de Berry", Maternity is depicted as Marie-Caroline, Duchesse de Berry, holding in her arms Prince Henry, born on September 29, 1820, with his elder sister, Princess Marie-Thérèse, Melle d'Artois, on her knees. It rests on a semi-circular base, surmounted by a bed topped by a drape and an enameled circular dial with Arabic and Roman numerals. The sheet is also held by a love. The base is adorned with amour, a dog and a cat. On spinner feet.
