In silver, fillet pattern, handle engraved with the arms of the alliance surrounded by palms and surmounted by a comtal crown (wear). Title mark 1, large guarantee, Paris 1809-1819. Goldsmith's hallmark Charles Joachim Benjamin Dallemagne, goldsmith in Paris from 1786 to 1822. Length: 21.8 cm; Weight: 92 g A.B.E. Restoration period, circa 1814-1815. History The identity of the silversmith, combined with the fact that the engraving on this piece does not bear the ornaments of a pair de France, establishes that it predates his appointment to the Chambre des Pairs on August 17, 1815. Related work, Osenat sale July 10, 2022, n°169, a fork with arms. We would like to thank Mr. Alban Pérès for his help in identifying the coat of arms.
