1968 Fiat 124 Sport coupé - Lot 62
1968 Fiat 124 Sport coupé Collector's registration Serial number: 44168 - Documented history Introduced at the end of the 1960s, the Fiat 124 Sport embodies Fiat's desire to offer an accessible coupé with a resolutely sporty temperament. Designed by Centro Stile Fiat and powered by the famous twin-cylinder engine designed by Aurelio Lampredi, the 124 Sport quickly established itself as one of the benchmarks in its class. Balanced, lively and with the taut lines typical of its era, it combined driving pleasure with versatility, in keeping with the Italian tradition of family coupés capable of covering the miles with ease, whether on the freeway or on winding transalpine roads. The example on offer, serial number 44168, was acquired new in 1968 by Madame Marie Martin. Retired in 1977, it was sold on April 29, 1999 to its cousin, Mr. André François, who undertook a thorough restoration between 1999 and 2001. Bodywork and paintwork, as well as mechanical repairs including engine, clutch and brakes, were carried out by the Lycée d'Enseignement Professionnel Jean Moulin (Port de Bouc 13110). On this occasion, the car received a new paint finish, now in pearly white (not the original color, but close to the original shade), as well as a sunroof, a welcome feature in the summer months. After a further period of immobilization, the car was acquired in 2017 by its current owner, who proceeded to put it back on the road. The road test was conclusive. The car is delivered with a full technical inspection. This 124 Sport is equipped with a luggage rack and two additional Cibié headlamps, currently not connected but in good condition. It is accompanied by its cover, spare parts and a set including its original maintenance manual, a Fiat "Advice to Users" booklet, a period guide listing Fiat-approved service stations and workshops, numerous photographs and invoices detailing its first and second restorations, as well as its Revue Technique Automobile n°274 dedicated to the model. All in all, this is a rare and exhaustive dossier, giving this 124 Sport a coherence that will be particularly appreciated by any discerning enthusiast. The description of the vehicle is based on information provided by the seller, who remains solely responsible for the condition of the vehicle. Maison Osenat verifies their consistency. 1968 Fiat 124 Sport coupe Collector's registration certificate Serial number: 44168 - Documented history Introduced in the late 1960s, the Fiat 124 Sport embodies Fiat's desire to offer an affordable coupe with a decidedly sporty character.
