ZENITH Trench watch Ref : 207797 Circa: 1910 Case: round in 750/1000 yellow gold, smooth bezel, gold-plated squared protection plate, fluted round winding mechanism, clipped caseback. Dial: white signed Zenith, baton hour-markers and painted Arabic numerals, sub-counter at 6 o'clock for seconds. Hands: skeletonized. Glass: organic. Movement: hand-wound mechanical. Strap: beige leather, steel pin buckle. Set: none. Diameter: 28 mm. Length: 20 cm. Gross weight: 26.90 g. This watch belonged to one of the pioneers of French aerobatics. An exceptional pilot with Morane-Saulnier, he set several world records, including 1,111 loops in 1928. An innovative figure, he contributed to the development of new aerobatic techniques, experimented with one of the first flight simulators and, in 1927, founded one of the first French aerobatic patrols. His aircraft, a Morane-Saulnier AI, is now preserved at the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace at Le Bourget, reminding us of the importance of his legacy to aviation history.
