1925 RUDGE WITHWORTH - Lot 16
1925 RUDGE WITHWORTH 350 type Four/Four Serial no. 8707 Engine no. 5250 French registration To be overhauled Bought near Birmingham (UK) in 2001, after a restoration, this motorcycle is an emblematic model: the first four-valve RUDGE in the brand's history, and also the first to be equipped with a four-speed gearbox, hence the name "Four-Four". As early as 1925, it was distinguished by remarkable technical advances: electric lighting (without batteries), chain drive, and a fuel tank housed between the frame tubes. It was also distinguished by an innovative braking system, acting not on the rim pulley but on a circle welded to it, offering superior efficiency. Light and lively, it is particularly pleasant to ride on small roads. It has taken part in numerous rallies, most recently in 2023. An overhaul will be required.
