1954 SAROLEA - Lot 5
1954 SAROLEA Without reserve type GTourism N'382825 French registration 1195 km on the odometer To be restarted Saroléa is a Belgian brand founded in 1850 by Joseph Saroléa, who started out in arms manufacture. Gradually, it turned to the production of bicycles and motorcycles. Saroléa began to make a name for itself in the early twentieth century with major victories, notably at the French and Belgian Grand Prix. The brand was also chosen as official supplier to the Belgian army during the First World War, producing military motorcycles for the troops. In the 1950s, Saroléa began to run into financial difficulties and was bought out by the British company Royal Enfield. However, the brand continued to produce motorcycles under its own name until it was finally sold to the German company Fichtel & Sach in 1960, ending in 1963. The motorcycle presented here was fully restored by our collector a few years ago. It's a 600 cm2, single-axle, 4-speed version with telescopic front and rear suspension. Only 191 Gtourismes were produced in 1951. On display in its private museum, the motorcycle has remained stationary for several years. It needs to be restarted.
