IRAN Ispahan in wool velvet on ivory Champ cotton foundations decorated with scrolls and garlands of ruby flowering palmettes surrounded by foliage adorned with a large brick-red poly-lobed central rosette with flower mosaic and inlaid with a crown of ivory and Prussian blue flowers. Four spandrels with motifs echoing the central medallion. Main border decorated with rows of floral bulbs encircled by finely drawn wreaths of foliage. Early 20th century. 211 x 154 cm Density approx. 7,000 knots per dm2
