Jacques BOUSSEAU (1681-1740), after Soldat bandant son arc Resin and marble powder Height: 90 cm; Width: 35 cm; Depth: 32 cm (very slight dents) Also known as "Ulysse tendant l'arc dont Pénélope doit être le prix" or "Soldat martyrisant Saint Sébastien", our work is based on Bousseau's marble sculpture of 1715. It was the artist's reception work, allowing him to officially enter the Académie Royale, and was seized during the French Revolution, entering the Louvre probably in 1849.
