Jacques VERBERCKT (1704-1771), after Tête de bélier Plaster Height: 41.5 cm; W: 32 cm (missing, marked with felt pen) Our work is a detail from the vase decorated with the attributes of Spring, created in 1747 and now in the Musée du Louvre (Paris). It was one of four vases commissioned in 1742 by Philibert Orry, Director General of the King's Buildings, to designs by Ange-Jacques Gabriel, for the park of the Château Royal de Choisy. Never installed there, they were moved to the Salle des Antiques in the Louvre palace in 1753.
