He joined the family business in 1823 and registered his hallmark in 1826. At his father's request, he travelled to London to learn mechanized techniques and the "English style", inspired by the George III style. The pieces created during this period are emblematic of the period, as shown by our pair of coasters. In 1831, Charles-Nicolas Odiot designed the eponymous service for Count Paul Demidoff, brother of Prince Anatole Demidoff and husband of Princess Mathilde Bonaparte, which is still marketed by ODIOT. Moreover, in 1816, Nicolas Demidoff (1773-1828) commissioned Jean-Baptiste-Claude Odiot to produce an important dinner service comprising more than 219 pieces, some of which, such as the pot à oille (OA 12162), are now in the Louvre.
