1960 Renault Florida - Lot 118
1960 Renault Florida No reserve Chassis number: 26508 French registration - Mythical convertible from the 60s - Touching Garage Outlet - Atypical state of preservation At the end of the 1950s, Renault launched the Floride, a compact convertible aimed at a young, urban audience. Presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1958, it marked a diversification of the range offered by Régie Nationale des Usines Renault, which until then had concentrated on sedans and light commercial vehicles. Designed to appeal to both the domestic and export markets, the Floride is in line with the trend towards small, affordable leisure cars. The model was supported by a noteworthy advertising campaign, with Brigitte Bardot as ambassador, then Grace Kelly, to whom Renault offered vehicles at media events. From 1962 onwards, the Florida was marketed as a Caravelle in certain markets. The model shown here was assembled in October 1960. It has remained in the same family since 1985, when it was acquired by its last owner. According to the information supplied, a partial restoration was carried out shortly after its acquisition. The car was then gradually taken out of service from 1995, and stored in a closed, dry garage from 1997, the date of its last technical inspection. Today, the vehicle is in a state of preservation consistent with this history. It provides a suitable basis for restoring this legendary convertible to its former glory. 1960 Renault Floride Chassis: 26508 French registration document - Legendary convertible from the 1960s - Touching garage find - Unusual condition At the end of the 1950s, Renault launched the Floride, a compact convertible aimed at a young, urban audience.
