Dolman and pants Salon de l'Automobile 1919, by La Belle Jardinière. 100 - 200 € Military-inspired jacket with 8 buttons signed "La Belle Jardinière - Paris" in brass on the front, sewn "Salon de l'Automobile" armband on the left arm. Braids on shoulders, "SA" embroidery on collar, and "19" on left chest. Pants with red piping. Handwritten inscription "Chaneberat"? in the lining of the pants. Made by "Maison La Belle Jardinerie - 2 rue du Pont Neuf à Paris"; specialist in made-to-measure clothing, uniforms and accessories for motorists in the late 19th - early 20th centuries. Good condition. Restitched seam on left shoulder. Dimensions: back 75cm; sleeves: 60cm; shoulder width: 45cm; pant length: 90cm After an interruption during the First World War, the Salon de l'Automobile returned in 1919 under the name that is now familiar to all! This 15th edition was inaugurated by Raymond Poincarré in the Grand Palais, with the star of the show the first Citroën, the Type A. The first French car built at 100 units per day.
