1956 Ford Thunderbird - Lot 273
1956 Ford Thunderbird Chassis number 243022 - French registration - Original French - Same owner for 37 years Developed to counter the Chevrolet Corvette, the Ford Thunderbird is in fact a comfortable, high-performance Cabriolet closer to the grand touring spirit than to the radical sports car. Heavier but more luxurious and comfortable than its Corvette rival, the T-bird is powered by a powerful 225 hp V8. The model we present is an original French car, imported by the Ford France garage at 35, Rue Bassano in Paris when it left the factory in the USA in 1956. The car is in beautiful original condition, with options such as Continental Kit, electric windows, electric bench seat and automatic gearbox. The original paintwork is well presented, with a rare patina that adds to its charm. The interior has been redone, identical to the original, as has the soft top, which is now in fine condition. The original V8 engine has been maintained over the years and kept in good working order. During our test drive, the car proved to be smooth and pleasant to drive. This Thunderbird represents a rare opportunity to acquire an original French model, with timeless lines and an ever-high popularity rating. 1956 Ford Thunderbird Chassis number 243022 - Original French - Same owner for 37 years Developed to counter the Chevrolet Corvette, the Ford Thunderbird was in fact a comfortable, high-performance convertible closer to the grand touring spirit than to the radical sports car.
