Bibliographers have not been able to acquaint themselves with the magazine. We only know that one issue was published. History of the magazine : "In the spring of 1922, the Alexandria Union of Russian Students published the first issue of the journal "Orion". It contained articles on the 11th-century Arab poet Abdul-Ala-Mari, Arabic metrics and translations into Russian and Arabic metrics of his poems and verses by the Persian poet Omar Khayyam. The magazine proved unprofitable, and a single issue was published. The "Union of Russian Students in Egypt" was born in 1920 as a public organization among Russian émigré students forced to leave Russia, among other refugees, in connection with the revolutionary events of 1917 and the civil war that followed. When the Union of Russian Students in Egypt was founded, it had around 250 members. In 1922, the "Union of Russian Students" ceased to exist, as its main mission - to send students to pursue their studies in Europe - had been fulfilled to one degree or another. Absent from the collections of the DRZ, RNL and RSL. Exceptional rarity. This is the first time it has been offered at auction. История создания журнала: "Весной 1922 года Союз русских студентов в Александрии выпустил первый номер журнала "Орион ". В нём были, в частности, статьи об арабском поэте 11 века Абдул-Аля-Марийском, об арабской метрике и переводы в русской и арабской метрике его стихов и стихов персидского поэта Омара Хайяма". Журнал оказался убыточным, и был выпущен только один номер. "Союз русских студентов в Египте" возник в 1920 г. как общественная организация в среде русских студентов-эмигрантов, вынужденных покинуть Россию в числе прочих беженцев, в связи с революционными событиями 1917 года и последующей Гражданской войны. На момент создания "Союза русских студентов в Египте" в его составе было около 250 человек. К 1922 году "Союз русских студентов" прекратил свое существование, т.к. основная его миссия - отправка студентов для продолжения образования в Европу - в той или иной мере была выполнена. Отсутствует в фондах ДРЗ, РНБ и РГБ. Исключительная редкость. Впервые выставляется на аукционе. Результаты углубленного расширенного поиска позволяют предположить, что это единственный уцелевший от малого тиража (89 экз.) экземпляр.
