1954 LAMBRETTA - Lot 29
1954 LAMBRETTA LD type Serial number: 26371 125 cm3 Collector's registration 1 500 / 2 500 € To learn about the history of the Lambretta, we can't stop at Troyes, where it's manufactured for France. We have to cross the Alps to Milan, where the Innocenti factories are located. In a lecture to the Société des Ingénieurs de l'Automobile in Paris on January 14, 1950, Mr Giuseppe Lauro, General Manager of these factories, explained the birth of the Lambretta. "I remember, for the sake of historical accuracy, that right here in France, in 1920, the 1st scooter association in the world was founded, the "Scooter Club de France". This brand of scooters manufactured by the Italian company Innocenti owes its name to its Lambrate factory near Milan. At the end of the Second World War, Innocenti, which specialized in non-welded industrial steel tubing and its famous quick-assembly scaffolding, saw its business pick up sharply, as did most of Italian industry. In search of new markets to expand his business, Ferdinando Innocenti turned to a particular need of the new civilian life: popular transport. Following in the footsteps of Piaggio and its Vespa, the scooter was to become the main product of Innocenti's new transport department, which also began building cars in 1956. Innocenti designed its first scooter (known as model A) in 1947. The model on offer is a 125 LD and has been restored by its former owner. We recommend that future purchasers carry out the usual restarts required to keep these machines in the collector's museum. We recommend that future purchasers carry out the customary restarts required by the immobilization of these machines in the collector's museum. 1954 LAMBRETTA LD type Serial number: 26371 125 cm3 Collector's registration 1 500 / 2 500 € To learn about the history of the Lambretta, we can't stop at Troyes, where it's manufactured for France.
