The Courbevoie-based company began producing motorcycles in 1902. After the First World War, in 1919, Griffon became part of the La Sportive consortium, a group of French brands including Peugeot, Hurtu, Alcyon, Automoto, Griffon, Liberator, Labor, La Française, Gladiator, Clément, Armor and Thomann. Around 1925, Griffon was taken over by Peugeot, but existed as a brand until 1955. The model presented here was purchased by its current owner 11 years ago, and has its French collector's registration. The file indicates that the paintwork has been redone, as have the ignition and brakes.
