Indian was born in 1901 in Springfield, USA, 119 years ago. In 1907, the first V Twin in its history in a production model was 633 cm3. The Scout arrived in 1920. After the Great Depression and the difficult years that followed, Indian and its great American rival took part in the war effort from 1940 to 1945. This Indian Scout 741 is one of the many motorcycles built for this period of conflict. The 741 B had a displacement of 500 cm3, and was used by the American army and its allies until the end of the Second World War, when civilian production resumed, notably with the Chief. The model presented here was purchased by Mr. Mauret at an auction in England. The file contains the English V5 in the name of Madame Louise, as well as invoices for restoration at Mc Coys Speed for €21,214.
We recommend that future purchasers carry out the usual recommissioning due to the immobilization of these machines in the collector's museum.
We recommend that future purchasers carry out the customary restarts required by the immobilization of these machines in the collector's museum.
