1938 PEUGEOT - Lot 13
1938 PEUGEOT Type P112T Serial number: 145232 350 cm3 Collector's registration 2 500 / 4 500 € Two full decades separate the birth of the P108, in June 1928, and the disappearance, at the end of April 1948, of its ultimate descendant, the rare P135. And there were 2 other models in the line: the short-lived P111 and the P112. At the October 1935 Motor Show, the Peugeot range included light motorcycles, touring bikes and high-powered bikes. In January 1936, Moto Revue published an article on Daniel Rebour's test ride of a new P112. Comments on comfort, roadholding and flexibility are, as always, complimentary. The file on this machine includes correspondence between the former owner and Mr. Mauret. The latter informs him: "(that) the engine has been professionally overhauled (cranking checked, new segmentation, cylinder deglazed, new valve guides, valves honed); the Magneto Morel ignition overhauled; the Gurtner M22 bronze carburetor re-bored with its ball re-machined". We recommend that future purchasers carry out the customary restarts required by the immobilization of these machines in the collector's museum.
