Felice Bianchi Anderloni, Touring's head of design, hired Federico Formenti after the Liberation. An inspired stylist, scrupulous planner and brilliant illustrator, Federico Formenti (1925-1995) deserves posterity's recognition as one of the most outstanding designers of his generation. He drew many masterpieces: from the Ferrari 166 Millemiglia (1948) to the Lancia Flaminia GT (1960), from the Alfa Romeo 1900 Supersprint (1956) to the Aston Martin DB4 (1958).
