1952 MG TD Series: TD12754 The English... - Lot 42 - Osenat
1952 MG TD Series: TD12754 The English roadster par excellence. Good condition Collector's grey card Erratum : Ct for AVD braking system corrosion The MG TD was introduced in 1949, replacing the TC, which had everything of the pre-war car, including its rigid axle. With its independent wheels at the front, the TD model was more comfortable and held the road better. The 4-cylinder XPAG engine, however, is the same as that of the TC, a reliable 1250 cc 4-cylinder with overhead valves and twin carburetors, delivering 54 hp. With 30,000 units produced in four years, it was a commercial success. Almost 80% were exported to the USA. This was the first MG to feature left-hand steering. Aesthetically very successful, the TD has a certain charisma. Behind the wheel, the driver finds all the joys of driving pleasure. The model we're offering was born in 1952 and acquired by its owner in 2020. Restored (we have no invoices), it is in generally good condition. Its typically British configuration lends it a certain charm. Both the upholstery and soft top are in good condition. The engine runs smoothly, and starts without difficulty. The ride is pleasant, with good gear engagement and surprisingly good handling for its time. 1952 MG TD Series: TD12754 The quintessential British roadster.
