NICE LITTLE PISTOL CASSETTE, - Lot 18
NICE LITTLE PISTOL CASSETTE, in wood, covered with green morocco-style paper, decorated on the lid, with commemorative marking "La Desse de Saint-Leu au général Cmte de Flahaut". Inside sheathed in silk and blue velvet, with two hook closures. It features a fine pair of percussion cap pistols. Round barrels in curly damascus, with forced bullets. Chests signed "Salles à Marseille", enriched with foliate scrolls. Recessed triggers. Ivory crossbars (small crack and missing parts). Steel caps chased with a shell. And its accessories: - belt dagger with grooved ebony handle, steel hilt, curved quillon towards the tip, four-sided blade with median ridge, velvet-covered wooden scabbard (wear), with two nickel silver fittings. - bullet mold with steel arms, one to dismantle the chimney, the other to dismantle the gun. - and a powder flask in blond horn with brass fittings, with unscrewing bottom for housing capsules. Complete with all components. B.E. Circa 1835 (wear on the case). Gun length: 12cm, caliber: 10 mm, dagger length: 20cm. Case size: 14 x 22 cm, 8 x 4cm. Salles: harquebusier in Marseille 1835-1849 and 1860-1870. Bears a label in the lid "Collection de S.A.I. la princesse Napoléon".
