1979 YAMAHA TZ 350 MORENA - Lot 76
1979 YAMAHA TZ 350 MORENA 11 000 / 14 000 € The history of the Japanese Yamaha brand is intimately linked to the speedway. When the brand wins on the track, it sells in its dealerships. So it's important to produce high-performance motorcycles. When in 1973 Yamaha presented its two new motorcycles for customer competitions, the success was obvious. With two engines of 250 and 350 cm3, the aim was to invade both categories with a motorcycle that brought innovation and performance. Both are liquid-cooled, eliminating the main drawback of air-cooled engines, which ran out of steam over the length of a race. Until 1981, the 350 was available in several versions, from the 60hp TZ A to the TZ H, which, thanks to various technical evolutions, produced 72hp from an engine that proved to be reliable, and led to numerous successes around the world. The TZ 350 Morena was designed by Edouard MORENA, whose ambition was to improve the machine's performance by optimizing its handling. He worked on the rear of the bike, replacing the cantilever suspension with a rocker arm. Equipped with two discs at the front and one at the rear, its braking proves highly effective when it comes to stopping this racing machine. The model presented here is in good, slightly weathered condition. Its striking fairings, painted in the colors of France, are a reminder of its racing vocation. The bike starts up and is just waiting for a rider to climb into the (small) saddle and take the lead over the competition. 1979 YAMAHA TZ 350 MORENA 11000 / 14000€ The history of the Japanese Yamaha brand is intimately linked to the speedway.
