1983 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF GTI 1800 Serial number... - Lot 95 - Osenat
1983 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF GTI 1800 Serial number WVWZZZ17ZBW148896 Nice condition Recently restored Collector's registration A true icon of the '80s, the Golf 1 GTI left a lasting impression. On September 11, 1975, the Frankfurt Motor Show opened its doors with a major attraction on the Volkswagen stand: the Golf GTI. "The fastest Volkswagen ever". It's going to be a bombshell. The Golf GTI, the idol of an entire generation, was a revolution in the automotive industry. Volkswagen, accustomed to the curves of its Beetle, decided to fit in with the aesthetic standards of the time by creating a compact, sober car with taut, slightly aggressive lines. But where Volkswagen really came into its own was when it invented the name GTI: Grand Tourisme à Injection. In 1983, for the first time, the powertrain was upgraded to an 1800cm3 engine, with virtually the same power but more torque. This small modification made the car much more flexible and available than its predecessor, while significantly improving performance. This Volkswagen Golf GTI 1800 cm3 was launched on September 26, 1983 by the Dubuquoy garage in Creil. In a beautiful green hue, this Golf is in very good overall condition. It is accompanied by its period service booklet, and has just undergone major work (clutch, starter, running gear). This beautiful example, with its rising value, is just waiting for an enthusiast to take it out on the road. 1983 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF GTI 1800 Serial number WVWZZZ17ZBW148896 Nice condition Recently restored Collector's registration A true icon of the '80s, the Golf 1 GTI left a lasting impression.
