1964 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 BJ8 MK3 Chassis n° HBJ8L29362 BRITISH MOTOR INDUSTRY HERITAGE certificate Antique restoration of the highest quality Collector's registration document Founded in 1948 by Donald HEALEY, a renowned racing engineer, the AUSTIN HEALEY brand aimed to produce high-performance, affordable roadsters. Initially offered in a 4-cylinder version (the 100/4), the AUSTIN HEALEY roadster soon moved up to a 6-cylinder 3-liter for more torque and power, the famous "big" Healey 3000. In 1963, AUSTIN HEALEY presented the ultimate evolution of the 3000: the 3000 MK III, which was produced until 1968. On the engine side, the all-cast-iron Austin 3-liter block is a model of flexibility, capable of picking up in 3rd gear at 1500 rpm without flinching. Fed by 2 SU carburetors, this big in-line 6 doesn't shy away from revs either, with an absolutely fabulous sound. The model presented here rolled off the production line on October 8, 1964, equipped with overdrive, wire wheels and heating. It was then shipped to the United States, as was virtually the entire production run. The car was fully restored in the USA between 2000 and 2003, as evidenced by an impressive file of invoices and photos. In early 2020, it left the USA to return to its native land. It has since been imported to France by its current owner. Today, this beautiful Austin Healey BJ8 is in excellent condition. The road test was very conclusive. This Austin Healey is now waiting for a new owner to take to the roads of our beautiful country. 1964 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 BJ8 MK3 Chassis n° HBJ8L29362 BRITISH MOTOR INDUSTRY HERITAGE certificate Antique restoration of the highest quality Collector's registration document Founded in 1948 by Donald HEALEY, a renowned racing engineer, the AUSTIN HEALEY brand aimed to produce high-performance, affordable roadsters.
