1938 Dodge D8 Series: D872049 Rare open-top sedan Same owner for 15 years French registration Part of the Chrysler Group since 1928, Dodge sat alongside the DeSoto brand above the entry-level Plymouth, powered exclusively by six-cylinder engines from 1934 until the war. Dodge continued to improve its product in 1938, revamping the bodywork with a new grille and headlights repositioned above the fenders, as well as a leaping ram mascot. Ten different styles of all-steel "Silent-Safety" bodywork were catalogued, including a business coupe, roadster, convertible coupe, fastback sedan, touring sedan and convertible sedan, as well as a limousine on the longer-wheelbase platform. Other notable features included Autolite ignition, hydraulic brakes, upgraded engine mounts and a 16-gallon fuel tank. The D8 series was powered by a 218 ci six-cylinder, with a single Stromberg EXV-2 carburetor and 87 available horsepower. This beautiful and rare Dodge was acquired by the collector from our company in 2007, and became part of his collection. As it has not been driven much in recent years, it needs to be put back on the road. All the vehicles in the Rollet collection have not been driven for at least 5 years, and will need to be restarted.
