Helmet and cuirass set of rifleman : - Helmet of rifleman. Bombshell and crest decorated with laurel leaves, in brass. Iron headband, with a pomegranate in palm leaves, in brass. Iron radiating bosses decorated with brass stars. Chinstraps with brass "8" rings, lined with leather. White metal ring stamped "L". Mane in red horsehair. A.B.E. (missing the cap, a hole in the back) -Cuirass Iron breastplate plated with brass, bordered with brass rivets. Brass eagle motif on a radiating iron background. Shoulder straps with curb rings and brass clasps. Shoulder pad lining, ties and leather belt. Backplate marked "Châtellerault March 1845", breastplate marked "Châtellerault June 1864". A.B.E. Second Empire period. Presented on bust with scarlet passementerie epaulettes.
