1951 CITROEN TRACTION 15/6 Serial number... - Lot 55 - Osenat
1951 CITROEN TRACTION 15/6 Serial number : 710494 French registration Nice restoration 29 000 /32 000 When it was presented in 1934, the Citroën "Traction Avant" marked a turning point in the world of the automobile. The technical features that make this car so special are: monocoque bodywork, four independent wheels, lined engine, extraordinary road holding, low profile and aerodynamic design, front wheel drive with hydraulic brakes. In short, all the competition was relegated to light years! But if the Traction remains André Citroën's masterpiece, he owes this success to the engineer André Lefebvre, a former member of the Avions Voisin company, who designed the car. Throughout its career, the Traction never stopped evolving but always kept its original appearance. The Traction has existed in several versions and in several body styles. The first models were powered by a four-cylinder engine of 7 hp which evolved into 11 hp. The top of the range of this car will then be propelled by a six cylinder of 15CV. The Traction 15/6 was born. The available bodies were the coupe, the cabriolet, the sedan, the limousine and the commercial. The presented car is in one of its most famous color combinations: black paint and pale yellow wheels. The bodywork is in good condition, probably due to an old restoration. The interior is also in good condition despite some wear and tear, especially on the door panels. Mechanically, the engine runs smoothly and we enjoyed a road trip to Fontainebleau. 1951 CITROEN TRACTION 15/6 Serial number : 710494 French registration Beautiful restoration 29 000 / 32 000 When it was presented in 1934, the Citroën "Traction Avant" marked a turning point in the world of motoring.
