1987 CITROEN CX GTI Turbo 2 Serial number... - Lot 68 - Osenat
1987 CITROEN CX GTI Turbo 2 Serial number : 10000 € invoices No reserve Collector's registration 10 000 / 15 000 € In 1974, the new Citroën CX is presented to the public. In 1977 Citroën unveiled the CX GTI, with its 2.4-liter, fuel-injected engine developing 128 bhp. The innovation was total in every respect: chassis, design, interior. Citroën's heavy heritage forced it to distinguish itself through meticulous aerodynamics and a flattering air penetration coefficient of less than 0.35 . Launched in October 1984, the CX GTI Turbo was produced in several versions. The first series, produced for less than a year (October 84 to June 85), featured painted bumpers and a few special interior features. A second series remained mechanically identical, but featured new bodywork with more wraparound bumpers. Finally, the Turbo 2 retains the same bodywork, but gets an intercooler to improve both fuel consumption and performance. The CX Series 2 is marked by the abandonment of chrome for plastic. And its dashboard bid farewell to the rotating drum counters. The CX thus enters the eighties and benefits from an air of rejuvenation to face up to its competitors. The GTI Turbo 2 version features a large spoiler under the rear window, and logos evocative of power all over. Together with the beautiful alloy wheels, it adds a sporty style to this large youngtimer sedan. The model presented was delivered new to the Netherlands and remained there until 2022, when the current owner imported it to France. We had a lot of fun driving it from the owner's home to Fontainebleau. The test drive and an extensive maintenance file (10,000 euros over the last 5 years) reveal a healthy, high-performance car, and a run on the power bench confirms the engine's vigor, as it develops its 169 hp well. Today, its value continues to climb. It's time to buy one. 1987 CITROEN CX GTI Turbo 2 Serial number : 10000 € invoices No reserve Collector's registration 10 000 / 15 000 € In 1974, the new Citroën CX is presented to the public.
