STRONG VENERIE OR WOLF DAGGER. Handle with grooved mother-of-pearl plates. Chased and gilded brass mounting. Boar's head pommel. Fine straight quillons ending in gules of dogs. Half-grooves, one of which features a wolf skin on the front. Engraved, gilded and one-third blued middle-cut blade (minor pitting and wear). Double-trimmed leather scabbard decorated with hunting trophies. Fox head cap knob. B.E. Circa 1820/1830
