1965 ALFA ROMEO 2600 SPIDER - Lot 73
1965 ALFA ROMEO 2600 SPIDER
Series 192396
French registration
90 000 / 110 000
After the end of hostilities, Alfa Romeo, like most other European manufacturers, went back to work. In 1962, Alfa Romeo decided to reposition itself at the top end of the market. The development of an all-new 2600 cc 6-cylinder engine with double ACT allowed the brand to revive its prestigious past. The new car was launched at the 1962 Geneva Motor Show. Available as a sedan, coupé or cabriolet, the range was complete. The cabriolet, christened the 2600 Spider, was designed by Carrozzeria Touring, while the coupé was produced by Bertone.
The example we're offering for sale has a magnificent gray livery, matched by a beige leather interior with blue-gray stitching. The car is in impeccable condition, having been restored a few years ago. The test drive revealed a high-performance car that's a pleasure to drive, with no major faults to be found. An icon of the "sixties", it was the V.I.P. car of the era and the symbol of the Italian way of life: the "Dolce Vita"! At the wheel, the line resembles a small 250 California. The pencil stroke is remarkable and timeless. We offer you the opportunity to ride in a legendary line.
