FINE AND BEAUTIFUL PAIR OF FLINTLOCK PISTOLS, OF OFFICER. The barrels are blued and finely decorated with gold foliage, clouds, lightning and dotted friezes. The locks are signed "Cusson" on one and "à Clermont" on the other, and the swan-necked hammers are flat-bodied, line-engraved and chased with foliage. Iron basins with sparkle. Chiseled and engraved fittings with foliage and flowers on the pommels. Walnut mounts. Crosses finely squared, with long shaft, decorated with inlays of silver wire. Wooden sticks with horn and iron tips. Good quality. First Empire period. Length: 29 cm. Cusson François in Clermont Ferrand, born in 1773, practiced there in 1807
