FRANCE ORDRE DE LA LEGION D'HONNEUR Commander's star, Third Republic 1870-1940. Star with five double white enamelled rays with gilded metal tips, diameter 6 cm. The plant crown is formed of a branch of oak and laurel leaves and enhanced with green enamel. The obverse is bordered by a blue enamelled listel bearing the inscription "République Française 1870". The reverse is bordered by an enamelled scroll bearing the motto: "Honneur et Patrie". The clasp is represented by a crown of oak and laurel leaves. Original case. Total height with crown: 7 cm T.B.E.
