THE DEATH OF THE IMPERIAL PRINCE Set of souvenirs: Small box containing relics of the Imperial Prince: - Five fragments of earth, - Some blades of grass. Contained in a handwritten paper "Earth of Helezi tinted with the blood of the Prince (...) June 1, 1879. These souvenirs come from the sale Franceschini Piétri. A cartridge of calibre 320 is joined. -Death card of the Prince. -Photomontage of the dead Prince lying down, business card size. -Two old photographs (around 1900) of the Prince's tomb in Zululand. -Abbot METAIRIE Chaplain of the Emperor, former Chief Chaplain of the Army. Autograph letter signed, Camden Place, August 11, 1879, to Admiral La Roncière Le Nourry, about the Empress, after the death of the Prince: "The Empress reasons her misfortune with such a true logic that she leaves no room for reply. Nevertheless, thanks to her piety and the moral energy which characterize her, she enters a less painful phase. She begins to eat. She goes for walks, she attends mass every day at the church in Chislehurst and I notice that her pain is calmer.
