1949 PEUGEOT 202 CAMIONETTE
Serial number : 748265 Nice patina Old style French registration   At the end of the 1930s, the French carmaker Peugeot launched the production of its new 402. At the same time, and in order to offer a more affordable car for its entire customer base, Peugeot also offered a smaller version, the 202. This was created to compete with the new Renault Juvaquatre (1937) and Simca 8 (1938). Its production was spread over 11 years, from 1938 to 1949. Initially designed as a 4-seater saloon, the 202 was later produced as a cabriolet, a pick-up and also as a van. Powered by a 1,100cc four-cylinder engine, its rear-wheel drive was controlled by a three-speed manual gearbox. Its typical French popular look makes it endearing. The car we are offering is a van version. Don't be fooled by its bodywork, the owner wanted it to keep its original patina. Under the bonnet, the engine starts easily and the car drives well. A mechanical overhaul is to be expected as a squeak can still be heard. There is no rust and the body is still in good condition. All in all, this car is perfect for small country roads, gatherings or personal use.
