1978 AUSTIN MINI COUNTRYMAN MK1
"1978 AUSTIN MINI COUNTRYMAN MK1 Serial number: 199890B Transformation into a wooden station wagon Engine 1000 cc Nice condition of restoration French title The mini is a popular car of English origin designed for the manufacturer BMC. Marketed under different brands such as Austin, Rover or Morris, it will sell more than 5 million copies, all manufacturers included. Of a rather simple design, it was even produced under license by Italian and Spanish brands, respectively Innocenti and Authi. Its origins date back to the 1950s, when an oil crisis was emerging. Sir Leonard Lord, of the British Motor Corporation, had an economical car produced with an 850cc engine. In only 8 months, the project codenamed "ADO15" is finally finished. This is not the only car that has been produced under the pressure of an oil crisis. Who would have thought that this small car would become a myth of the English car. The Mini we present today is a Clubman version transformed into a Countryman. It has been fully restored in Portugal and it is also there that it has been transformed into a Countryman. A new grey paint was applied to it, the body is in good general condition. Under the hood, the 1000cc engine starts without any problem. Inside, the car is in excellent general condition. The red upholstery contrasts perfectly well with the exterior paint.
