JOHANN JOSEF KARL HENRICI (SCHWEIDNITZ, SILESIA 1737 - BOLZANO 1823) Turkish Pleasures Canvas Height: 67.7 cm Width: 95.5 cm The artist, who was trained by his father, traveled to Italy, especially to Venice, where he copied the great masters. If he painted religious works still preserved in the churches of Tyrol, the most original part of his work are his scenes of tur-queries. The Academy of Music in Lubjana preserves two of them signed and dated 1786 (canvases, 68 x 96 cm). We can also point out the series of four paintings presented in Vienna in 2007 (Vienna, Do-rotheum, April 24, 2007, paintings, 73 x 105 cm).our painting can also be compared to the two oriental concert scenes from the former Paul Louis Weiller collection sold in Paris, Mes Gros et Delletrez on 5/10/2006, n°39 (paintings 105 x 149cm).
