1981 FERRARI 400I
Serial number F101CL36321 French Pozzi Automatic gearbox Collector’s French title The Ferrari 400 appeared at the Paris Motor Show in 1976. It quickly became a Ferrari classic: 2 doors, 4 real comfortable seats, a real Ferrari with a powerful V12, timeless styling, and designed for grand touring, and even casual and refined touring, in impressive luxury. It is based on the chassis of the 365 GT 2+2 extended by 20 centimeters, which offers more interior space than any other Ferrari. The interior layout has been revised by Pinifarina. The seats have been redesigned for even better habitability. It is however 20 cm shorter and therefore ultimately more maneuverable than its predecessor the 365 GT 2+2. The four-wheel independent suspension with rear suspension levelling, combined with an excellent power steering system, ensures exemplary cruising comfort. The silhouette, seen from three quarters rear, is exciting, combining fine and dynamic lines with extremely flat volumes, surprising and classic at the same time. PininFarina has succeeded in designing a line where the hood offers a huge, almost flat surface that is overlooked by a very sloping windscreen. Every part of the body is beautifully proportioned. Throughout its production, it remained the most expensive model in the Ferrari range. First registered in September 1981, our car is in beautiful condition, both mechanically and aesthetically, with a service performed at Dino Sports to ensure that the car can be sold in good working order. A new stainless steel exhaust system was installed to take advantage of the V12's vocals; the entire braking and injection system was also revised so that the car could travel any distance. A file of invoices will be provided to the buyer. Atypical and collector, the 400i is the affordable family Ferrari not to be missed.
