1912 DE DION BOUTON TYPE DH
Power 10 HP Chassis n° 9839 C More than 55 000 € of restoration Accessible entry ticket to the wonderful world of "teufteuf". Collector's french title De Dion-Bouton is indisputably one of the greatest brands of the early days of the automobile. Yet it was born from an unexpected association: a talented worker, Georges Bouton, and a rich aristocrat, the Marquis Albert de Dion. After their first steps devoted to steam engines, they became famous for their first gasoline engine, a single-cylinder engine developed in 1894 that would equip cars of many different makes. The De Dion tricycle that followed, light, simple and efficient, contributed to the development of the brand's notoriety which, with the Populaire, was to take off. Our example was found in the 80's, in a beautiful original condition. The car was complete and the bodywork was probably original. The year 1912 as well as the engine stroke and bore are stamped on the crankcase. Thirty years after its discovery, a major restoration was entrusted to Jean Luc Bonnefoy's Concept et Restauration workshop, one of the most recognized workshops in Europe. A file of invoices worth more than 55,000 € attests to the work done on this De Dion-Bouton. Woodwork, body, upholstery, hood, as well as all the elements of the car, everything has been taken back, we can say that it has been restored without counting. The mechanics have also been restored with great care. To drive an ancestor is a way of life, to take the time and to appreciate its value.
